About Stamford Hospital

Stamford Hospital has provided compassionate, clinically excellent care to the community for more than 100 years. A Level II Trauma Center and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with a nationally recognized Intensive Care Unit, we are a Planetree hospital committed to patient-centered care; an affiliate of the NY-Presbyterian Healthcare System, and a teaching hospital of the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. Signature Services

Stamford Hospital's Tully Health Center houses outpatient and wellness programs. The Immediate Care Center is designed to treat non-life threatening injuries when your doctor is not available. Other services include:

Stamford Hospital has 305 inpatient beds in medicine, surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, psychiatry, and medical and surgical intensive care. The hospital is also:

  • A hospital that has received Magnet recognition for organizations that demonstrate excellence in nursing philosophy and practice, adherence to national standards for improving patient care, leadership and sensitivity to cultural and ethnic adversity.
  • Fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
  • A certified Level II trauma center by the American College of Surgeons, one of only eight in Connecticut.
  • A critical care unit recognized as one of the best in the nation by The National Coalition on Healthcare and the Joint Commisson.
  • The only Teaching Hospital Cancer Program in lower Fairfield County, the highest designation for a community hospital, granted by the American College of Surgeons.


The hospital maintains an educational partnership with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons for its teaching programs in internal medicine, family practice, psychiatry, obstetrics/gynecology and surgery.
